Who we are
NMF (Naifa Maruf Foundation) is a non-political, non-profit and non-government organization (NGO). NMF started in July 2004 with its own resources. The NMF is committed to providing developmental support and humanitarian assistance to the most disadvantaged people. Registered by the Government of Bangladesh (NGO Affairs Bureau-Office of the Prime Minister; Registration no 2253 & JS Societies no S-32(345) 05.
Vision: NMF seeks a world of hope, poverty free, social justice, people live in dignity and peace.
Mission: To create self-reliance among the beneficiaries (i.e. disadvantaged and underprivileged) through Rights Based Approach (RBA) and in Partnership.
Aims and Objectives: Provide support to Education, Health and Environment. In line with UN 17 SDGs 2030.
Sector 1: Human Development Initiatives (HDI): Programs: Child Sponsorship Program (CSP), Women Development Program (WDP) and Citizen Rights Program (CRP)
Sector 2: Primary Health Care (PHC): Programs: Under Five Children (UFC), Improve Maternal Health (IMH) and Combat Diseases & Access to treatment (CDA)
Sector 3: Environment & Natural Resources (ENR): Programs: Livestock, Fisheries & Agriculture (LiFA), Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WaSH) and Climate Change & Food-security (CCF)
PS: Designee, Quality & Learning (DQL) – NAP (Need-assessment, Analysis & Program-development), GED (Gender Equity & Diversity) and M&E (Monitoring & Evaluation) is a cross cutting issue for all.
Governance and Management: NMF gives high priority on good governance, accountability, transparency and participatory management. NMF has got three organizational structures namely. a) General Body b) Executive Committee and c) Management Team.
General Body: The General Body (GB) of the NMF comprises of highly qualified and experienced professionals and dignitaries of the community. The GB consisting of fifteen (15) members holds one general meeting annually. The GB reviews and approves all the activities of the Executive Committee (EC).
Executive Committee: The EC elected by the GB members for five (5) years, is comprised of seven (7) members (Chair/President, VC/Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and 3 Members). It is the supreme authority to frame polices and guidelines to run the NMF. The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) appointed by the EC and is responsible for overall management. The Executive Director (ED) and staff are appointed by the CEO.
Management Team: The Management Team (MT) of NMF comprises an ED and Directors. The MT led by the ED and executes all activities of the NMF Bangladesh. NMF International is being run by the EMT – Executive Mgt. Team.

Prof Maruf U Islam PhD is presently focusing to promote Tourism and Hospitality Management including teaching, researching and advocating. The mission is to advance knowledge and educate students in hospitality and other areas that will best serve the nation and the world in the 21 century. Seek to develop in each member of the hospitality community the ability and passion to work wisely, creatively, and effectively for the betterment of humankind.
He is the President and CEO THE OLIVES (residence + suite), Adjunct Professor of Management – AIUB (American International University- Bangladesh), DIU (Daffodil International University), SEU (Southeast University), PAU (Primeasia University) and NHTTI (National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute) – BPC (Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation), Government of Bangladesh.
Founder and Chief Patron of Naifa Maruf Network – NMN (Naifa Maruf Foundation-NMF, ICT – NMF, Naifa Maruf Institute of Technology-NMIT, Naifa Maruf Tours & Travels – NMTT, Naifa Maruf Academy-NMA, Naifa Maruf Girls School-NMGS, Naifa Maruf Hospital-NMH, Naifa Maruf Madrasah-NMM), Monowara Quader Madrasah-MQM, Prof Majidul Islam Institute-PMI.
Worked over 31 years in home and abroad for United Nations and CARE International in North America, Europe/Former Soviet Union, Africa and Asia, in different top management positions (visited – 50 countries).
